In class problem statement exercise wallet prototype

Problem statement:
Yin Lin she is an Asian girl who want easy life style and unique personal possesses. One of her problems is that she feels that her purse is too thick and the style is not unique, it’s not showing her personality. She want something that easy use, clean designed, applying metal material, probably stainless steal. And the purse sometimes can change its space or functions when she might change the stuffs that she carries.

Problem Solution:

First of all, alloy metal has light and strong features. By using alloy metal with dull matt surface quality will let Yin lin feels fashion and modern. The purse inside has multi-function leaves that can be replaced if necessary, its depend on her purpose. For example, she want to carry more card, can add a card leaf in side it. The purse will be only half thickness of she current one, which it reduced from 2 inches to merely 1 inch. And the entire purse can close seamlessly, which make it clean and modern, the style that Yin-Lin will be fond of.

Three Problem Purpose Statements

1. Chinatown Beacon Center

Problem:
Chinatown community lives majority new coming immigration who did not realize that there are many nonprofit organizations who want to help them through various educational programs. Especially for those English as second language immigrants, their kids need special aid program in order to fit new life style and study environment. However, since lack of language skill and do not knowing how to communicate with others, those people have to no idea how to get out of those difficulties.

Redesign Chinatown Beacon Center Youth Empowerment Manual Revision and if possible, revision interactive website and create a physical and online community for the youth in the community.

2. Transportation in San Francisco

Problem:
San Francisco became more and more crowdy. Government want build more parking machines to charge the fee that will parking in a free parking space in the city. People also realize that the fossil oil is not environmentally friendly, and it’s cause health problems as well. People living in city need to have effective transportation tools, especially for who want make short distance transportation. People notice and realize that it’s necessary to find more economical and environmentally friendly transportation methods. For example, use of the bicycle if it’s safe and convenient.

Purpose:
Make people live in the city awareness of the current situation in terms of all the problems about transportation in the city. We would like to design some kinds of brochure, public poster campaign that evoke the attention and environmental issues of the transportation.

Problem:
The book store in SFSU and other places are still using the plastic bags, which are not environmental friendly.
