1. Chinatown Beacon Center
Problem:
Chinatown community lives majority new coming immigration who did not realize that there are many nonprofit organizations who want to help them through various educational programs. Especially for those English as second language immigrants, their kids need special aid program in order to fit new life style and study environment. However, since lack of language skill and do not knowing how to communicate with others, those people have to no idea how to get out of those difficulties.
Purpose:
Marketing for Community Educational Services through the Design for the
Community Program, brochure, signage and ID badges; let people easy notice the organization here for help them. Redesign Chinatown Beacon Center Youth Empowerment Manual Revision and if possible, revision interactive website and create a physical and online community for the youth in the community.
2. Transportation in San Francisco
Problem:
San Francisco became more and more crowdy. Government want build more parking machines to charge the fee that will parking in a free parking space in the city. People also realize that the fossil oil is not environmentally friendly, and it’s cause health problems as well. People living in city need to have effective transportation tools, especially for who want make short distance transportation. People notice and realize that it’s necessary to find more economical and environmentally friendly transportation methods. For example, use of the bicycle if it’s safe and convenient.
Purpose:
Make people live in the city awareness of the current situation in terms of all the problems about transportation in the city. We would like to design some kinds of brochure, public poster campaign that evoke the attention and environmental issues of the transportation.
3. Book bag for wrap the books
Problem:
The book store in SFSU and other places are still using the plastic bags, which are not environmental friendly.
Purpose:
The purpose of the study is to eliminate the plastic bags in our community as much as possible, and that would not cut down the profits that book stores make; and let people like to use new replacement packages.
